Many say that there is no difference between what a soul is and what a spirit is. However, in dictionary definitions, there are very very tiny differences, that are, nonetheless, different.
spir·it
–noun 1. the principle of conscious life; the vital principle in humans, animating the body.
2. the incorporeal part of humans: present in spirit though absent in body.
soul
–noun 1. the principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans, regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body, and commonly held to be separable in existence from the body; the spiritual part of humans as distinct from the physical part.
2. the spiritual part of humans regarded in its moral aspect, or as believed to survive death and be subject to happiness or misery in a life to come: arguing the immortality of the soul.
They say a lot of the same thing, just in different words.
But how do you feel? Is there a difference between a spirit and a soul? How would you define these, if not by the written definition? |

| hm,, depending on your beliefs. i would have to say a soul is in human form while alive, and goes else where such as heven, hell, purgatory, etc when deceased., when the soul remains and connot find a direct path in which to follow after death, it becomes a spirit in which individuals bearing any level of clairvoyance can detect. that is my assumption. |

That is much better than how I saw it when I was first reading over some of the publications I stumbled across.
In many online publications, soul appears to be seen more as the moral part of the human mind, the part that forms beliefs in things such as god, or love. |

SHADOW’S EMBRACE
By: Malinda 2008

The fragrance of Mulberry hung in the air. Dys was there, hiding within the shadows. Forbidding the flame of the candles. His presence was strong. Mali knew he was there, she called to him,” No games…no lies…no tricks.”, her soft voice trailed away with the last word. In the silence Dys spoke, “No,” his voice smooth and rich with deepness, “No tricks.”
He stepped into the flicker of light. Those intense ,dark eyes were aniex like a child’s. They looked as if they have waited for this moment for an eternity. His body was sleek like a panther’s. In his black suit he glided towards Mali…slowly like a cat about to pounce at any moment on it’s prey. Every careful step echoing in the unpleasant silence until shy of an inch from her. Then he paused, taking in her beautiful body.
Mali wanted to thread her fingers through the soft strands of hi hair. It was pulchritude compared to any human’s. She longed to feel the silkiness under her fingertips. Dys’ flat, toned muscles shown under the black dress shirt with silver buttons. His pants were leather and fitted snugly against his firmly bulked thighs. Delightment flashed in his handsome face.
His features were defined, truly an artist’s dream. The fire in his eyes was electrifying. Chills quivered inside Mali. She wanted to dive in and lose herself in them. She could stay there drowning…drowning into fire and his darkness. Dys embraced Mali into his arms, “You are so beautiful.”, he whispered passionly as he stroked her delicate lips with his own,”And I have never told anyone that…”he continued,”in fact…”I ‘ve never seen anything or anyone more beautiful. I have searched this world over to find such a creature."”
Mali’s lips yearned for her lover’s kiss. So many mixed emotions of love and desire were making themselves known. She felt a ping inside her stomach. She whispered breathless, “Kiss me…”. Dys smiled,”Kiss you my Goddess?”. “Yes,” she repeated, ”Kiss me before you vanish again.”
Then he was kissing his Mali. His lips were hard and firm with desperation. Her lips yielding to his. The kisses were mad and passionate. Mali never felt so free. Her body longed to touch his…his mouth, those lips. He had a mouth to keep you awake at night…pure sin.
Mali’s body begged for more as her dark lover ran his warm tongue up her face. Dys grabbed a fist full of her hair, pulling back her head ,exposing the pale, swan like neck. With his other hand he gently brushed away the auburn hair off her shoulder. Then in one motion his fingertips stroked his Mali’s delicate collarbone. She held on to him, drawing her Dys into her.
