Indeed... I have to agree, I cannot stress enough how much this so called Genre entitled “Emo” exist, there is no such thing, they say that this “Emo” is a subculture that originated from the 80’s so says Wikipedia, need I remind these children that such information can be created and edited by any fool, if this so called “Emo” comes from the 80’s then I should know about such a thing as well as my Father even Grand Father.
“Emo” is called as such because the music they make has “Emotions”, how absurd an insult to everything what music stands for, an insult for they are saying that all other Genres of music has no and is devoid of Emotions, what foolishness is this.
This “Emo” copies if not hijacks existing genres of Music and Fashion as well, tainting the very essence of those Genres as well as Music itself, Snatching from Goth, Hard Core, New Wave, even Japanese Rock…
This “Emo” does not exist period, since they insist they exist and the requirements to being “Emo” is Being suicidal, namely cutting themselves or some such, then by all means just get on with it and finally end your lives, Stop tainting what music is. |

Actually "Emo" existed in the 80's but then they looked like a "normal" person kind of.
And may I ask what this new "emo" has taken from Goth? |

| :P i hate emos... no offence to the people just the group. not sure what this post is about though... theres a lot of people in all the groups who try to be like them but really arent. is this saying that there are no actual people who naturally fit the title "emo"? |

| i always thought emo was a abreviation for "emotional music" there is such thing as emo, its a shame that children had to hack at it making it a eqivilant to the sterotypical goth only because they didn't know any better, you can't hate children for trying new things and you can't preted there is no such thing as emo either, let people do what they choose to do, they'll either be themselves eventually or live a lie there whole lives, who are we to tell them what is right and wrong when we all know the kinds of phases kids go through (like myself and others) to find themselves. hating a stereotype is never an answer, as a person living in a world of dissagreements i choose to accept everything as it is, not waisting preciouse thought complaining that people don't think they way i do. and if discrimination is what you yell when you see a sad little emo child walking along the street, then your no better then any other closed minded individual that hasn't yet learned to just "deal with it". |

Apparently you did not read namely understood what I’ve written, do not believe everything you read on Wikipedia, namely when reading information there specifically take note of the Label “Needs citation” which means the information still has yet to be verified, authenticated, do you not know that any fool (and I quote) can edit even make up information at that Very Web site, David, you dear boy is still very Young to understand, you are still looking for yourself, looking for your own path, in time you will understand that this “Emo” simply does not exist, its just a made up Genre by corporations trying to push the next “In-thing” for the industry to make sales, it is made up for the fact that it does not have clear Origin, several bands that have been mistakenly labeled deny even feel disgusted at the fact that they were labeled as so, the word/name “Emo” itself sounds a little too cliché something only music corporations could formulate with excessive if not inaccurate research like they do with the Hip-Hop if not Black music Culture, the word “Emo” is too close to the words “Yo”, “Jing Ling Jing Ling” “Shnizle” so on and so forth, “Emo” is made up for the Music that is labeled as being “Emo” already exists within a Genre, it all just sums up to being lazy if not stupidity, people these days just do not wish to read anymore and do research for that matter.
What this “Emo” has taken from Goth is its integrity, its musical purity, what it has taken specifically is its image, apparently painting your nails black now is considered “Emo”, teen depression, hair draping covering half the face which originated from JRock artists is now considered “Emo” as well.

Emo or rather Emotional Hardcore has existed a rather long time.
And it's pure brilliant to see that you say that todays "Emo" culture has taken a few things from Goth when you say things that has isn't even a piece of the Goth scene anymore then it's from the Metal scene and Rock scene even and Punk scene as well. And what Musica purity? And a HUGE lol at your "take specifically is it's image" LOL do you even know how MOST Goths looks? They look like Andrew Eldritch or Johnny Slut or similar please look them up and read the Gothic Rock books that was edited by Mick Mercer before you speak about Goth again old man. |

Emotional Hardcore, do you not think that this Name, the Title of this so called Genre a bit preposterous, are you saying, are they saying that all Genres of music save for this “Emo” has no Emotion whatsoever, Stupidity, what is the world coming to? Is this the next generation? People are getting dumber by the second. You should know that the very essence of music is emotion itself, the reason why it is, with that in mind this “Emo” is a fake Genre, it is obviously manufactured from the old genres, Its just a manufactured genre by the music industry, a marketing ploy just to make money that’s all it is, to sell more records.
The industry has ran out of new music, and so they have to make old music look new to makes sales, these corporate Vampires. Same dog different color. That’s all there is to it.
Emo? Your being Emo-tionally cheated by the music corporations, and they are all laughing all the way to the bank.
They destroy the good name of Rock even Chris Cornel call them OC Bands for being ignorant, shallow, superficial and trivial and they don’t stand for anything they don’t have any principles, their principles are twisted, nothing but superficial angst , they do not have a clear sense of understanding, a clear sense of what it is to be a musician, in short they are a concoction of corporate schemes to make profit, these miss guided Fools they destroy the good name of Rock.
In my days there were no Genres, Genres were not important so long as you Rock you Rock plain and simple, when did music start dividing people, putting up barriers, when did music become a beacon of division a Beacon of Hate. |
