MyGothicHeart.Com Interview with Tragic Black by Abortedlife

MGH: How does your band step away from the common stand of other death rock outfits such as Tragic Black?

AGD: Not sure if you have read our biography (which can be found in our official website), and dont know if you knew but Stich was a member of Tragic Black before starting All Gone Dead. We are inspired by a lot of different music genres and bands. We also feel our live shows are very theatrical, we are very animated and we create a riot on stage.

MGH: Please describe to us your music in general.

AGD: There is a link on our website to www.myspace.com/allgonedead. If you visit this link you can listen to 4 of our demo tracks. We believe our sound is original and strong. We have a dark atmosphere with a deep bite.

MGH: What can we expect from your debut album release "Fallen & Forgotten" and how many tracks will it be composed of?

AGD: Right now we believe it will be 6 tracks (give or take). It will be released by the end of the fall season (2005). We are now working very hard to achieve this. You can expect a strong message and a very powerful score.

MGH: Who is the proud lyricist among the group?

AGD: We are surely passionate in everything we do. Stich is the lyricist and we are all in charge of the music writing. We all compose the melodies and sounds. We are a band and we work together to achieve a vision.

MGH: Is it a hard task keeping up with the look of the supposed "death rockers" that you appear to be?

AGD: We do what it feels right to us without bothering about looks or trends. We dont just try to attract a particular audience and we are not trying to fit in just one particular music arena. But we do appeal more to the Deathrock genre and our fans seem to be more linked to this style as well.

MGH: Were there ever some notable dilemmas regarding your musical direction?

AGD: Music is what we enjoy doing and we have been pursuing music in many ways (playing in other bands, djing, etcs..) for many years. This is where we belong.

MGH: Wherever can we catch ALL GONE DEAD playing live?

AGD: We have been touring around the UK and we have already hit mainland Europe where we played in Nijmegen (Holland) last June at the Onderstroom 4th Anniversary Party. We are now arranging tour dates for 2006 when we are planning to return to mainland Europe once more.

MGH: Do you also plan to go overseas and spend quality time with your fan bases around the wolrd?

AGD: YES!!! Our fans are very important to us! And we do have lots of friends overseas.

MGH: How well was your overall reception by concerned parties in the music industry?

AGD: Promoters dont tend to accept new bands very well, so we have to try harder to get ourselves noticeable. People dont seem to take chances and it takes a while for new bands to get considered for shows and events.

MGH: Are you guys die-hard fans of Rozz / Christian Death as well?

AGD: We are all fans of Christian Death (Rozz) and his music still lives on very deeply. Rozz Williams will always be a big inspiration.

MGH: Would you ever consider yourselves as purists in your chosen genre?

AGD: We all listen to a wide variety of music. From Classical to 50s Rock&Roll, Heavy Metal, Deathrock, Batcave, Punk-Rock, New-Wave, Goth, etc We are open-minded. We can find inspiration in a lot of genres or styles, so no, we are not purists since we dont ostracize ourselves to one thing only.

MGH: Have you already bonded with other simlar artists?

AGD: We have toured with Devilish Presley http://www.devilishpresley.com/) (UK) since we were their support band for their last tour. They are the closest. Also Quidam http://www.quidamcave.com/ ) (Spain) who we had the chance to play together with a while back and we hope to repeat the experience in their home country in the near future.

MGH: So what's a typical AGD fan like?

AGD: Our fans are a great bunch. They are also very supportive although there is always the case scenario where fans try to demand far too much from the band (merchandise and other promo material).

MGH: Do you wear an appropriate dress code only during your shows?

AGD: Hahaha! We always look the same, in fact we try to wear comfortable gear during shows so we can put on a better performance and move comfortably. It is obvious to get a reaction from people in the street due to the way we look, but we dont give it a second thought, we are pretty much used to it.

MGH: Why did you end up using allgonedead dot net for the domain name?

AGD: The domain was already taken and thats why we ended up with allgonedead.net and allgonedead.co.uk instead of allgonedead.com

MGH: Give us at least five relevant links you'd like to share with us.

AGD: http://www.nightmarezone.de/ http://onderstroom.resurrection.nl/ http://www.resurrection.nl/ http://www.uglyart.org/ http://www.dancefloorpoison.com/ http://www.deathdisco.me.uk/ amongst others found on our Links section of our official website.

MGH: Do you think death rock has made its official comeback?

AGD: Deathrock is making its comeback. In some places (like for example Germany and the US) there is already a huge following if you compare it with the UK.

MGH: Are you willing to try other forms of music?

AGD: Yes, anything is possible for us!

MGH: What is the ultimate goal of AGD?

AGD: Hopefully our message will get stronger and we will be able to change the way people think.

MGH: Anything more to add? Thank you very much!

AGD: Thanks so much for your time and for taking an interest in All Gone Dead. We will certainly hope to have the chance to go tour Asia in the future. We gotta go now, our vacuum cleaner is flooding! CHEERS!
