A BLOSSOMING GUMAMELA
Circa 1998
(Poem by Gerard Bumanglag a.k.a. ABORTEDLIFE)
I.
A falling star
Ignites from afar,
A vision unravels,
A presentiment foretells
A seed, within a womb,
In still regrets entombed
And withered by forces tragic
But still, rejuvenated by the magic
Of a motherly faith retained,
In hopeful dreams regained.
Ah, Daniella,
A blossoming gumamela,
In bloom enchanting
With freshness everlasting.
Ever so sweet my dear,
Conqueror of fear,
Amidst the darkness thrown,
Your petals reflect the dawn,
Prize of a forbidden game,
Conceived in passion's name.
II.
A morning star
Enlights from afar,
A vision unfolds
A presentiment foretold,
A flower, so beloved,
In still innocence enshrouded
And whose purity remains unmarred
With a delicate skin, yet unscarred
By a motherly love impressed,
In loving arms caressed.
Ah, Daniella,
A blossoming gumamela,
In bloom enticing
With freshness everlasting.
Ever so sweet my niece,
Deliverer of peace,
Through flying kisses of love,
Swifter than a flittering dove,
Fruit of a forgiven love,
An angel, bestowed from above. |

Darkness Ensues
From the light to shadows of darkness.
We stray away from the path little by little.
Day by day, Night by lustful night.
We wander further and further away.
Listening to the influences around us
They do whisper on to thee desire is desire.
The flesh of divine creatures beckons.
How easy it is to circum to passion.
Constant is the will of man tested.
When the things we own possess us
Moral fiber it seems is but a distant echo
How blinded we all are to progression.
False faith covers the fear based society
What happens when we lose it all?
What happens when reality opens your eyes?
What happens when thy will, heart, and soul is broken?

Dark Lady
She roams--seeking evil bits and pieces---plucking ruined edenfruit,.coveting cheap carnal releases...
Gown never sullied, depthless soul perverted---desiring adulation from the easily converted.
Roaming the cellars and dark soul places---found under stairways, behind grotesque faces...
Lusting, thrusting, never trusting, her quest appears endless, plans constantly adjusting.
Sweet gossamer pattern, Dark Lady has woven---spider's kiss, impatiently awaiting her chosen...
Traps laid, plans made, worlds for the taking---new world order---mammon's delusion in the making.
Anxious now, foul fluids racing---ancient brotherhood's goal in sight---Lady weary of chasing...
Prophecy's promise, once ethereal---now horribly incarnate---blood and innocence the chosen material.
Rebirth unnoted, sweating bodies endeavor---to obtain promised rewards, now denied them forever...
Gleefully rejoicing, Lady's elation enhanced---by the antics of misguided souls she entranced.
Too late for repentance, infernal obesience required---by this dark queen of chaos, total corruption desired...
Her scheming dececeptions, false lingering kisses as well---plans come to fruition---humanity's selfish folly resulting in hell.
One further depridation is all she requires...
Succulent man-flesh to satisfy her culinary desires.

MARIEL by Gerard Bumanglag (1998)
Once, you opened my heart and
Took me by the hand.
Happiness in your eyes,
Eyes that hide no lies.
Youth in your smile,
Your innocent and everlasting smile.
Then, you captured my heart and
Soothed me by the hand.
Loveliness in your laughter
With a melody that sings forever
In my aching heart,
Nostalgia in my lonely heart.
Now, you seem so different,
Where is the heaven-sent
Mariel of my dreams?
Whom I cherish in my dreams,
Whose very image stays in my heart,
My broken heart.
Soon, our feelings will reunite
Beneath the stars dim and bright,
In the cold mist of the night,
Upon the wings of birds in their flight,
Through the pathways of my heart,
My never-dying heart. |

THE LIFE-LONG DRIVE by Gerard Bumanglag (Abortedlife)
Life's own character
in a metaphorical sense does resemble
That very familiar role
when you are driving,
Where the situations faced
ahead or behind you both present as an ensemble
That have the might to eventually
nurture or destroy you, a fair warning.
Strong forces of nature
that could very well
Embody your fate while you are
on that unpredictable stretch of road,
You may be encased
in your hard protective shell
But to be out there alone
or with others is still a precious load.
That is why you look
at your rearview mirror frequently
To mindfully check
on what's following right behind you,
Where you are bound
to calculate how significantly
They could
in a collective measure affect you.
You would never dare
to risk such major things
All to chance, as you could
get rammed off the track by them.
That main visual
area of concern also rings
The same bells
with what's ahead of you, both remain a tandem.
You have mastered
to control your pace or speed
By the mere
instinctual shift of your gear,
That's why
you'd always pay close heed
To your heart and mind,
willingly lending an ear.
Sometimes destiny
could suddenly swing by a mood
And come to you in the form
of a reckless driver
That might lead
to the very end of your journey for good
Now that, my fellow one,
as we reckon would be a complete bummer.
That if that
unfortunate consequence would arise, it would leave
You with a message from beyond,
be it a vacancy for you in heaven or hell.
You have learned a lot
for yourself in the art of driving, so give
Extra focus and care
to hone your skills and talents well.
Always make it a priority
that you will have a full
Amount of patience in store
for future use in your mortal reactions,
So you will
therefore remain calm and cool
Even when you are constantly
exposed to many stressful conditions.
You should scrutinize
your trip ideally in advance
And try to provide a quick
yet reasonable walk-through,
Have maps along the sides
so you can easily take a glance
When you get lost,
let them guide you all the way through.
Sometimes you find your self
in a position where you are obliged to
Head straight
to an address somewhere for an important request
So you end up going
out of your normal routine to
Fulfill that very mission and go on a quest.
You drive forward
with a desired goal set firmly in mind,
But do not forget
to evaluate in every conceivable direction
And decide more properly,
never resort to playing blind
Only then can you ensure
your ease and safety with each single destination.
So, for this little time
reflecting with you my dear friend,
I bid from the bottom of my heart,
so long and BON VOYAGE!
And sooner or later when your wordly travels
do come to a certain end
Try to look back
and park your experiences in your soul's garage. |

Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe
There once was an old woman,
Who lived in a shoe.
She had so many children,
She didn't know what to do.
'Til one day a Doctor,
Knocked on her door.
He gave her a hysterectomy,
As she lie on the floor. |

~Lady Bug~
Such a cute little creature
It does not even bite
And if you try to catch it
It wont even try to fight
Stare at her bright color
Red is a pleasing sight
Little wings unknowing
That she should take flight
Crawling upon your hand
Trusting she is alright
Slowly closing your hand
Fun to crush her, right?
