Goth is about Music mostly and will always be it's sad to see so many that has no clue what Goth is here, but then so it has always been since.. the 90's.
Well Goth is about Music like Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy, Alien Sex Fiend and so on, then we got the gorgeus person in the Gothscene like: Johnny Slut, Siouxsie Sioux, Andrew Eldritch and so on. |

Well it's all about being unqiue, and not conformin 2
stereotypes, and not givin a rat's ass what
ignorite conformsits think. i don't comment when people
make stupid remarks 2 me when im on the streets,
mindin my own bee's wax cause they do'nt know me,
or anything bout me. you guys rock! so bless our gothichearts!

| No it's not about being unique, to be Goth you ONLY need to listen to the music and know what's Goth music and what's not. Simple then that there is more to it is just a bonus. |

| It saddens me that there is so many ignorant people here or atleast lazy people that dont know how to use google I mean even Wikis article of Goth is pretty good so go and read it. And learn what's Goth. |

To me being goth or gothic is a mindset...
a) It usually starts with adolescent/and or family problems...
b) Because of a, you don't fit in anywhere you go...
c) Because of b, this leads to constant depression...
d) Because of c, this leads to extreme behavior...
e) Because of d, this leads to more problems...
f) Because of e, ...
It is also a musical trend and a fashion statement....but to me it is a mindset first. |

everybody has there diffrent views on what goth is everybody is right! you are right for what you think yes it does come mostly from music but i think it does have also to do with image and mindset |

The thing is that there ain't a mindset. You do know that no Goth is like the other in their opinions and such do you?
There for there ain't no mindset. Sure they can have a few similarities but that's it.
And zeekcho you wont become a Goth jsut because you're depressed or something bad has happend to you. That's just a really bad stereotype that has given the Gothscene and subculture a very bad image. |

| You know Goth existed long before the music...if you studied up a little on your history you would know that...besides there is no reasonable way to some it up, so why even bother? |

Goth has not existed before the music. That was the Germanic tribes and an era of architechture and poets and writters such as E.A Poe and Mary Shelley for example. Often refer. to as Gothic.
Goth didn't exist until about 1982, and shortly after it gave birth to a subculture which is called Goth also. Goth is a musical genre and a subculture which didn't exist before 1980. |
