okay since nobody dared...
goth can cover a lot of related aspects within the "gothic" lifestyle.
basically... it's about the music.
aside from a musical standpoint, it has more to do with a fondness for black clothing, reading dark themed books, watching horror films or just trying to act like a "darkling".
but, those are easy targets in classifying the "stereotypical" goth type. so if i were you, i'd invest in knowing more about gothic music!
Trust me, i'll know WHO YOU ARE by just reading your music list. |

Goth to me personally....is just a mind set...a fetish.We read too much into labels and such,which cause mixed feelings and opinions on shit that has no relevance into who we truly are...Am I goth?hell no.am I Emo?hell no.am I hippie?hell no.am I prep?hell no.am I joc?hell no.hell no.I am just me...I play sports,have been known (once upon a time)to smoke it up and take many hallucinogens ,dress accordingly,have tried suicide,and may go out in shocking clothing,hair,and makeup,but that doesn't mean anything and it puts no label on me...Nor should the lifestyles and hygienic decisions put a label on anyone....Back to the question at hand what is goth to me,it's just a label that some use to distinguish themselves as belonging to a certain genre of music,art,fashion sense,and mind set. |

| To me, Gothic is more than just the music, and the clothes and the eyeliner. Gothic is a different acceptance to life, seeing the world in a different way then the so called "norm of society." And not just believing in something because someone tells you that is how it is. Gothic is questioning, and thinking, and not being afraid of strange reactions by those who don't understand you, but trying to make others understand. |
